Whether it’s the Christmas holiday, Thanksgiving, the 4th of July, or even birthday celebrations, food is usually a big part of the celebration. It’s easy to eat up and end up putting on pounds around holidays. However, if you’re working to lose weight, you don’t want to sabotage your weight loss within a few days of eating unhealthily. Here are several easy tips you can use for keeping off the pounds while still enjoying your holiday.

Tip #1 – Bring Along a Healthy Dish

The first tip to follow if you want to keep off the pounds during the holidays is to bring along a healthy dish if you’re invited to an event. Prepare a dish that you know is healthy and take it along. Doing this helps you to ensure there is something that is healthy for you to eat while you are at the party. Just make sure that you do this in a kind way and go with recipes that are as tasty as they are diet friendly.

Tip #2 – Avoid Alcohol

Another great tip to remember so you avoid sabotaging your weight loss during the holidays is to avoid alcohol. You can quickly end up taking in a lot of calories just by enjoying a few alcoholic beverages. Not only are you taking in empty calories, but you may be more likely to let loose and begin eating more if you are indulging in a lot of alcohol. This way you aren’t ravenously hungry, which can lead to overeating.
