When stress hormones like adrenaline are produced in the body your metabolism is sped up and when your metabolism speeds up you burn more calories!

Tip #2 – Get Proper Rest

You know that your body needs sleep, usually 8 hours of sleep per night. However, many people do not follow these guidelines saying they don’t have time and as a result are simply exhausted. When the body is exhausted it can’t function as it normally would, much less burn calories as it should because the body is working in a reduced capacity. This is because the amino acids that make up protein are difficult for the body to breakdown, which results in the body working harder to breakdown the protein and the metabolism increasing as a result. You don’t have to be on an all protein fad diet either to get this benefit. Simply include more protein in your diet, from 10-30%, and you will recognize that your metabolism increases.

Tip #7 – Eat Breakfast

You have probably heard that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and if you want to lose weight then it really is. When you go to sleep at night your metabolism slows down and the only way to rev it up again is to eat.
